A Sucrose-Centric Anthology! Submissions will be focused on the character Sucrose from Genshin Impact. This unofficial fan event will feature writers and artists who will produce works centered around Genshin's Harmless Sweetie!An anthology is a collection of literary works, however Spun Sugar will feature a small number of artists for spot illustrations.

About Spun Sugar

spun su·gar (noun) a mass of fluffy cotton candy.Sucrose's very name means sugar and her element is anemo, meaning... Sucrose (sugar) + anemo (air) = spun sugar!A sweet, fluffy treat!Known as the Harmless Sweetie of Mondstadt, Sucrose also has her own sweet tooth and it seemed only fitting to have an event based around her!Spun Sugar as a whole is centered around Sucrose but also the genre fluff to match the texture of cotton candy. Spun sugar comes in flavors, though, so a little bit of hurt or spice is alright as long as the piece is overall sweet!Writers will be asked to write a piece and will be paired with an artist who will prepare a drawing to accompany said piece.

Participants

During applications, writers will be asked to provide a brief summary of the fic they plan to write. Although it does not have to be a final idea, it is part of what will be judged on your application, and accepted entrants will have to run new ideas through the mod team to make sure they fit the theme of this anthology.Those who are accepted through the application process will have their summaries sent to the discord for artists to look through. Artists who are accepted will be given access to the anonymous bank of fic summaries, and they will select fics that they would be interested in creating content for. Once the summaries are posted, artists will have to look over all the summaries and select a top 3 in order of preference to work with.
The mods will match and pair artists and writers on a roughly first come first serve basis - meaning the sooner you submit your choices the more likely it is that you will receive one of your top 3 picks.Artists
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Be aware that all page artists will be required to include a background with their finished piece for the bang. It can be simplified, but we ask that it is more than blank/solid color.Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ On that topic, final pieces will need to be at least half-body if not full-body.Writers
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Be aware that all writers will be required to commit to writing at least 1.5k to 2.5k words for their piece.

Rules

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Everything must be an original work produced for the anthologyƸ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ All works must be SFW (no mature or explicit content).Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ While shipping is allowed, it will be limited to keep the focus of the anthology on Sucrose. Keep in mind that although you may apply with a ship in mind, you must acknowledge during the application that you are fine with working on a Sucrose-centric piece. Platonic relationships are allowed, but romantic ships with children (Klee, Diona, Qiqi, Sayu, Nahida, etc.) are not allowed.Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ OCs are allowed in the event but should remain as side characters to allow Sucrose to be the focus of any work.Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ If there are any triggers, please alert a mod so that they may be added to a list in the discord.Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Plagiarism is not allowed and will result in removal from the event. Participants may draw inspiration from media (such as movies or songs) and may refer to their previous works, but all work must be new and created by themselves.If any of these rules are to be broken, the moderation team reserves the right to exclude any participant from the event.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ How old do you have to be to participate? Participants must be at least 13 years of age by the time contributor apps open in order to comply with Discord's terms of service.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Will their be an application process? Yes, there will be an application process to be a part of the anthology. Application requirements are coming soon.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ What about deadlines? It is very important to stick to deadlines as to assure there is no rush at the last minute. If by the second check-in you are unable to continue on, please let a mod know ASAP to avoid stress.

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Are ships allowed? Ships will be limited/restricted in order to allow the event to focus purely on Sucrose. There will be a section in the application where you agree that you will be willing to write a fanfiction without romantic ships in case you aren't able to write your chosen ship.

General Requirements

1. All links in your application must be viewable and easy to access. Broken links will disqualify your application.
2. All samples must be SFW.
3. Portfolio and samples must feature at least one Genshin Impact piece. Content depicting Sucrose is encouraged but not required.

Artist Requirements

1. Must provide 3 samples of your best works and with the quality and style you're planning to use.
2. All samples used must be completed and fully colored and at least one sample must feature a fully rendered background.
3. Portfolio featuring 5-10 works (including the samples used). All of the works in the portfolio must follow the requirements listed before.
4. For merch artists, you may include physical or digital merchandise that you have created in your portfolio as long as it fits the rules of submission.

Writer Requirements

1. Must provide 3 samples of your best works and with the quality and style you're planning to use. The word count must be from 1.5k to 3k words with a leeway of 100 words on both ends.
2. At least one sample must be completed within the set word count.
3. Portfolio featuring 5 works (including the samples used). All of the works in the portfolio must follow the word count requirement.
